Lesson 5: Language focus

I. Objectives:
1. Education aim: By the end of the lesson, students will review the pronunciation and the present perfect and the present perfect passive
2. Knowledge:
- General knowledge:
- pronounce the sounds/ʊ / and / u: / clearly and correctly
- use the present perfect and present perfect passive appropriately
- Language:
- Pronunciation: / ʊ / - / u: /
- Grammar and vocabulary + The present perfect
+ The present perfect passive
+ Relative pronouns
II. Teaching aids:
Teacher: English textbook 10, lesson plan, laptop and speaker.
Student: English textbook 10, notebook.
III.Procedures:
1. Class Organization: check attendance

1.Pronunciation
- Ask students to look at the books
-Explain the differences between the sounds/ ʊ / and / u: /
+/ʊ/ is a short vowel sound.
Make your lip a little rounded.
Your tongue is not so far back.
+/uː/ is a long vowel sound.
Make a lip into a circle.
Put your tongue up and back.
- Read aloud the words in the books.
- Ask students to repeat
* Practice the sentences
- Ask students to look at their books
- Call student to read aloud the sentences in the books.
- Ask students to pick out the words containing the sound /ʊ/ -

- Let them work in groups
- Correct the mistakes

-Ask student to recall the present perfect and the present perfect passive
-Help student to retrieve the knowledge.
Exercise 1:
- Introduce how to do exercise 1
- Ask students to do exercise 1
- Walk round and help students
- Call some students to write their answers on the board
- Correct mistakes





Exercise 2:
-Explain the exercise
-Divide the class into 5 groups and rewrite the sentences. Each group writes 2 sentences.
- Call 2 students from 2 groups go to the board and write down the sentences.




















Exercise 3:
- Explain relative pronouns: who, which, that
- Introduce how to do exercise 3
- Let them work in pairs
- Walk round and help students
- Call some students to read the sentences.
- Correct the mistakes


-Recall the knowledge and say aloud in front of the class.
