* Warm-up “Guessing game”
Use flashcards of flags about countries
Ask Ss to guess what countries are these
Lead in the new lesson: Unit 2 – Lesson 1(1.2)
* Look, listen and repeat.
Ask Ss to look at the picture on page 12 and identify the characters
Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and Akio talking about where they are from.”
Linda: Hi, I’m Linda.
Akio : Hi, I’m Akio. Nice to meet you.
Linda: Where are you from?
Akio : I’m from Japan. What about you?
Linda: I’m from England.
Play the recording twice.
Ask Ss to listen and repeat in chorus
Pre-teach new words:
+ Japan
+ England
Ask Ss to practice in pairs.
Call some pairs to perform
Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation
* Look and say
Show flashcards and ask them to identify

Point to Picture a, asks Ss to fill the speech bubbles with correct
A: Where are you from?
B: I’m ____________.
Model the dialogue with a student:
Have one repeat A’s part, the other B’s part. Then has the pair swap their parts.
Asks Ss to practice all pictures
Calls on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. Others observe and comment.
Comment and correct the mistake
Has the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation.
