Guessing words
- T divides class into 2 groups.(books closed)
- T asks SS to guess the words.
- Ss play the game.
- T corrects and decides which group is the winner.
=> Lead to the new lesson

II. PRE-READING
Pre-teach vocabulary:
- floppy (adj) [flɑpɪ] = soft : mềm [synonym]
- to turn away : quay đi [mime]
- to imagine [ɪ`mædʒɪn] : tưởng tượng [translation]
- a wad of [wɒd] : 1 xấp [visual]
- a thief = a burglar : tên trộm [Situation]
- sneaky (adj) [`sni:ki] : vụng trộm, lén lút [explanation]
- to glance at sth/ sb [glæns] : liếc nhìn [mime]
- idol( n) [`aidl] : thần tượng [example]
- to make a fuss (exp) (over/about): làm ầm ĩ . [explanation]
Pre Questions:
( Look at the pictures ( P.22) and guess what is happen in each of them (11A6)
- What can you see in picture A?( a man and a girl)
- What do you think might be relationship between the girl and the man? (a father and a daughter)
- What do you see on the table? (money)
- What is she wearing on her head? (a red cotton/ a floppy cotton hat)
- In picture B, what did her father give her some money for?
- In picture C, how does she feel? (confused/ worried…)
- What did she do in picture D? (watched a video clip ….)….
( Match the pictures on page 22 with their suitable situations: (11A5)
The girl felt very embarrassed.
She took the money back from the schoolboy’s bag.
She liked the hat that her pop star idol wore in her video clip.
Her father pointed to a wad of dollar notes on the table.
Her father gave her some money to buy the hat.
She bought the pretty hat of her dream.
=> we’re going to read a story in which a girl’s telling about her most embarrassing situation. Then do the tasks that follow.

- T models the words and asks ss to repeat.
- T gives the meaning and the stress of new words.
- T asks ss to copy down into their notebook.
