LESSON PLAN
Unit 8: New Ways To Learn
Getting Started: Learning with personal devices

1.Class description:
- Class: 10A3
- 45 students.
2. Time: 45 minutes.
3. Objectives
After learning this lesson, students (Ss) will be able to:
+ Knowledge:
Understanding electronic devices bring to many benefits in learning.
Learning new words related to the topic, especially adjective to describe.
+ Skills:
Achieving clearly in scanning the text: specific information.
Identifying the adjectives which describe the devices used as learning tools.
+Attitude:
Have a positive attitude towards what they havelearnt with personal electronic devicesbetter.
Understand and use these tools actively
4. Teaching Aids:
- Board, chalk, cleaner.
- Projector, PC.
5. Procedure:

WARM-UP( 4 minutes)
- T gives Ss a game “Who’s faster”.
- T divides class into 2 groups.
- T explains the rule and make sure that all of Ss got it
- Ss will have to look at the slide and try to remember all of these pictures without noting down
- T chooses one St of each group and requires them to write down their answer in the board.
- T shows the correct answer.
- Lead to the lesson.
II.GETTING STARTED
Activity 1. Task 1: Listen and repeat (12 minutes – p26)

Aim: get Ss to repeat and pronounce after the record, improve group work skill.
- T shows new words and teach their meanings and pronunciations. T explains new words. Ask Ss to listen and repeat each word.

- T guides Ss to read the text first in order to understand the topic and the content of the conversation.
- T plays the recording.
- After listening, work in groups of 3 and call two groups to read out loud the dialogue.
- T fixes their pronunciation if necessary
Task 2:True and False.(10 minutes – p27)
Aim: have Ss understood scan skill the text in task 1.
- T check Ss’s understand the requirement of the task by ask whole class.
- T calls Ss to underline the keywords in each sentence in the box.
- T sets time for Ss to read the conversation again and do the task.
-T selects some Ss to check their answers as a class and give explanations if necessary

Task 3: Find out the adjectives . ( 8 minutes- p27)
Aim: identify adjectives used in the text to describe devices and make sense the meaning of these words.
- Ask Ss to refer back to the conversation to find out the adjectives
- T lets Ss discuss and finish the task with their partner.
- T calls Ss to show their answer and check them.
- T asks Ss to listen and repeat each word.
Suggested answers:
- Electronic devices (n) thuộc điện tử
-  modern ( adj) hiện đại
-   excellent (adj) ưu tú
-   useful (adj) hữu ích
-   mobile (adj) lưu động
-   digital (adj) kĩ thuật số

Task 4: Answers the questions (12 minutes – p27)
Aim: To get Ss to scan the text to answer the questions.
- T guides Ss to underline the keyword before they start
- T requires Ss to work in pairs, reread the text and discuss in 5 minutes to find the answers for these questions.
- After 5 minutes, teacher calls some other Ss to answer the questions and explain why.(Where do you find the information in the text?)
- T checks the answers of Ss and show the correct answers on the slide.
Suggested answers:
They are talking about smartphones, laptops and tablet computers.
They have changed the way we learn.
They use them to take photos or record their work, which can be shared later with class.
Because they can be used to store information, take notes, write essays and or calculations.
He does his assignments, projects and studies English.

- Learn new words by heart
- Prepare the next lesson.
