Pre-writing

 Task 1:
-T gives Ss handouts about Cuc Phuong National Park and asks Ss to work in pairs to read the passage and answer the questions.
Cuc Phuong National Park is located in Ninh Binh, 160 kilometers south west of Hanoi. Its total area is 22,000 ha. It is famous for beautiful mountains and caves as well as hundreds of rare animals and plants. There are about 71 species of animals, over 300 kinds of birds, 50 different orchids and 1,944 species of other plants.Cuc Phuong National Park is the first of Vietnam’s nine national parks to be established. Visitors can come here to see wonderful landscapes and look at the 1,000- year- old tree

While-writing ( 17minutes)
Task 2:
-T divides the class into small groups and assigns each group to write about an aspect of Cat Ba National Park.
+ Group 1 writes about location and area, Group 2 about scenic features. Group 3 writes about plants and animals. And Group 4 writes about Historic features.
-T delivers each group an A0 sized paper sheet. Ss will write their paragraphs on that paper. After the groups are finished, they stick their posters on blackboard.
-T checks and corrects mistakes.
Sample writing
Cat Ba National Park is located in Cat Ba Island, Hai Phong. It is 120 km from Hanoi and 20 km east of Hai Phong city centre. It is 15,200 square hectares in total. The park is characterized by beautiful tropical forests and coastal waters. It is famous for magnificent landscapes with white sand beaches and abundant natural resources. Many kinds of rare and precious animals and plants live in Cat Ba National Park. It is home to 300 species of fish, 40 species of animals, 150 species of birds and 620 kinds of plants. Cat Ba National Park is also a historic site. Archeologists found 6000-year-old stone tools and even human bones. So the park is not only a tourist attraction but also a good place for historians and archeologists to study the past.
