Lesson 1 (part 1, 2, 3)
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to greet somebody and introduce themselves.

Vocabulary:Hello, hi, nice to meet you
Patterns:Hello, I’m Mai.
Hi Mai, I’m Nam.
Teaching aids: video song, computer, projector, student’s book
Procedure:

I.Warm up: listen to the song “Hello, how do you do”
-Open the video song
-Have Ss listen to the song
-Ask Ss to listen and sing the song
-Look
-Listen
-Listen and sing
II.New lesson:
1.Presentation
a. Pre – teach vocabulary
*Activity 1:
-Ask Ss what do we say first when we meet a person
-Show vocabulary
-Read loudly
-Have Ss repeat after T (twice)
-Ask each group to read vocabulary
-Call any Ss to read
*Activity 2: Play game “Jumbled words”
-Steps of game:
+ 2 groups join the game
+ Play rocks, scissors, papers to get the priority
+ Show new words, which are disordered
+ Have group, which get priority, arrange the words in the right order
+ Group who has a right answer will get a point
+ Group who has the most right answers will be winner
-After the game, ask Ss to read new words again
b. Presentation dialogue
-Show pictures of characters (Mai, Nam, Miss Hien and class)
-Have Ss identify characters
-Set context and show dialogue: “It is the first day for children to go to school. They meet together first. So, they greet and introduce their name
Picture a:
Mai: Hello. I’m Mai.
Nam: Hi Mai. I’m Nam.
Picture b:
Miss Hien: Hello. I’m Miss Hien.
Class: Hello, Miss Hien. Nice to meet you.”
-Read loudly the dialogue
-Have Ss repeat after T
-Role – play between T and Ss to practice the dialogue and change roles
-Have Ss work in pairs to practice the dialogue
-Call any pairs to practice

-Explain the patterns

-Call any pairs to go to the board and practice
