Unit 6: WHERE`S YOUR SCHOOL?
Lesson 1: Part 1, 2,3
I. Objectives: Students will be able to:
- Ask and answer questions about where a school is.
- Practice listening, speaking skill.
II. Language focus: Newwords: cousin, same, street, road, village, district.
Sentence patterns: - Where`s your school?

III. Resources: Ss’ book, recording, pictures, flash cards.

1.Warm - up:
(5 minutes)
- Sing the Can you swim?song.
- Do the Can you sing? chant.

2.Look, listen and repeat:
(15 minutes)
Ss look at four pictures to discuss the contexts in which the languages is used.
-Ask and answer the questions such as: Who are they? Where are they? And What are they talking about?
(In picture a, Peter greets and introduces his cousin Jack using This is my cousin Jack. He`s in London. Phong greets Jack and self-introduction. And Jack also responds to Phong`s greeting. In picture b, Peter tells Jack that Peter and Phong study in the same school, and Jack asks them about their school`s name, using What`s the name of your school? Peter replies that is Nguyen Du Primary School. In picture c, Jack asks them where their school is, using Where`s your school?And Peter answers, using It’s in Nguyen Du Street in Ha Noi. In picture d, Phong also asks Jack about his chool`s name, using What`s the name of your school?And Jack answers Phong`s question, using Oxford Primary School. It`s in Oxford street.)
-Plays the recording a few times for Ss to listen and repeat in chorally and individually, pointing to the characters speaking.
-Plays the recording again for Ss to listen and say along. (Pause after each line for Ss to repeat).
-Ss practise the dialogue in 2 minutes. Call some pairs or groups practise in front of the class. Correct their pronunciation, if necessary.

3.Point and say:
(13 minutes)
Ss look at the pictures to understand how the language is used to show where school is in different places.
-Elicit the phrase below each picture, and ask Ss to repeat a few times.
-Guide the 1st picture (Hoa and Nam ask and answer about where their school is, using Where`s your school?It`s in Oxford Street.)
- Ss say these sentences chorally and individually.
-Ss practise asking and answering about where the school is in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles.
- Repeat the same procedure with the rest of pictures. Go arround anf offer help, if necessary.
-Calls a few pairs to act out in front of the class, and some pairs practise asking and answering about their real school`s name and where it is. Check as a class and correct pronunciation, if necessary.
