- There is a review unit after 2 units.
b. The workbook: After each section of each unit
3. The Ss’ notebook
- A notebook to copy the vocabulary and the new structures.

Lesson 2. Let’s talk
I. OBJECTIVES
- Helps Ss know how to introduce themselves.
- Develop listening and speaking skills.
II. LANGUAGE FOCUS.
- Sentence patterns: Hello, I am Andy.
Hi, my name Kate. What’s your name?
- Techniques: work individually, in pairs and in groups.
III. TEACHING AIDS.
- Teacher’s aids: Name’s card, puppets, CD.
- Student’s aids: book, notebook.
IV. PROCEDURE

1. Organization. Greeting.
2. Warm up.
- Greet Ss in English
- Call the roll to remember Ss’ names
- Now let’s start our lesson today.
3. New lesson.
3.1. Presentation.
+ Introduce the greetings.
- Introduce himself/ herself to Ss in English
- Wave the hand or shake the hand of the puppet or of a student and say: “Hello”
- Direct the hand to the chest to tell the name: Hello, I am (Ms Loan).
- Give Ss some name tags or put them on the desk before Ss and greet some Ss
- Say “Hi” or “Hello” and confirm that two ways are changeable: Hello, (Nga). Hi, (Nam).
- Ask S1 to stand up and the class turn to him, waving hands and say Hi/ Hello, (An).
3.2. Present the first part of the dialogue:
- Use puppets to model the dialogue
- Imitate different voices for the two puppets
Puppet A: Hello, I am Andy.
Puppet B: Hi! My name is Kate.
- Repeat the words of puppet A and guide Ss to say the words of puppet B.
- Play the tape and have Ss open the book
- Ask Ss to listen carefully and repeat the dialogue
3.2. Practice.
- Divide the class into two team A keeps puppet A and team B keeps puppet B
- Two team practice speaking and then change the role
Eg. A: Hello. I am Andy
B: Hi, my name’s Kate
- T controls and correct their mistakes
4. Consolidation
- Asks Ss to introduce themselves to consolidate the lesson.
5. Homework.
- Learn the lesson by heart.
- Prepare next part.
