PART B: SPEAKING
I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
Practice the speaking skill: to ask and answer questions about hobbies.
Learn some new vocabulary items relating to the topic (Hobbies).
Talk about their favors activities in daily life.
II. TIME: 45’
III. TECHNIQUES:
Guessing game, pair/group work, question and answer.
IV. LEXICAL ITEMS & STRUCTURE(S):
Lexical items: Second-hand (a), classify (v), landscape (n), broaden (v), pen-friend (n), book stall (n), category(n).
Structures: prefer…to…, be fond of, be keen on, be bored with,..
V. TEACHING AIDS:
Textbook, black board, sub-board, handout, chalks, pictures.

Warm up (7’)
Guessing game:
-divide the whole class into 8 groups.
-show 8 pictures about the activities in black board.
-askSs to look at the pictures and to remember the names of the pictures in 30 seconds.
-Each group will write down as many names as possible on the sub-board.
-After 2 minutes, the group who has more correct names will be the winner.

-Present the vocabulary items which are necessary for speaking task.

Task 2. Lan is talking to Huong about her hobby of collecting books. Fill the suitable phrases in the blanks in the dialogue:
-give the handout for Ss and let them to do it.
Huong: What is your hobby, Lan? Lan: Well, I like (1)……………………….......... H: Could you tell me (2) ……………………………….your books? L: Well, this must be done regularly. Whenever I find a book which is interesting I buy it immediately. H: ……………...................... (3) your book? L: I buy some from the bookshop near my house and some others from second-hand book stalls. Sometimes my friends, my Mum and Dad give me some.
