Period 73: Lesson 1 (1,2)
A. Objectives:
- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to ask and answer about time.
+ Structure: What time is it? It`s seven o`clock.
+ Vocab: review numbers 1--> 59.
Skills: Reading, listening and speaking.
Instruct Ss to be confident when speaking English.

* Warm up (2’)
- Ask pls to look at the clock and tell about time related to daily activities.
* Pre- stage (8’)
- Ask pls to open their Student’s book on page 6 and look at the picture and answer the qs about the dialogue:
Who are they?
Where are they?
What time is it?
What are they going to do?
- Explain the phrase: go for a walk
- Play the recording or read the dialogue aloud for pupils to listen as they follow the dialogue.
- Play the recording again and ask pls to repeat sentence by sentence.
- Check to make sure pls can repeat and understand the dialogue.
- Ask pls to give the model sentences:
Tom: What time is it?
Dad: It’s five o’clock.
=> What time is it?
It’s…………….
(Asking and answering about time)
* While- stage (14’)
- Ask pls to look at the clocks with the time and repeat the time in English.

- Model with the first picture:

- Ask pls work in pairs to ask and answer the qs with the rest pictures. Offer help when necessary.
- Select some pairs to demonstrate the task in front of the class.
* Post- stage (5’)
- Ask pls to look at the other time and say aloud.
8. 00; 8. 15; 8. 20;…
- Call some pls to talk about the time now.
* Follow up (3’)
- Ask some pls to practise the dialogue between Tom and his Dad and change the other time.
3. Consolidation (2’)
- Ask pls to answer the question:
What is “What time is it” used for?
4. Homelink (1’)
- Ask pls to write the time in their notebooks.
- Practice the dialogue again with the other time.



- Look at the clock and talk about their daily activities.
