- How to learn English well

III. Revision : Asking the students what they learnt last year or how they know English now

TEACHER INTRODUCES
“TIENG ANH 5” has 4 books. ( Two student books and two exercise books)
Each student book has 10 units. After 5 units has a review.
Each unit has 3 lessons
Each lesson has 4- 5 parts
Prepare for the academic year.

Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about where some is from.
Teaching methods:
Communicative approach.
Techniques:
+ Ask and answer (say individually)
+ Work in pairs/ groups.
+ Discuss.
Teaching aids:
Teacher’s aids: student’s and teacher’s book, word cards, pictures, tape, cassette, puppets.
Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks.
Languages focus:
Vocabulary: summer, camp, different, country( countries), Malaysia – Kuala Lumpur , Thailand – Bangkok, the USA – New York, Indonesia - Jakarta
Structures:
A: Where’s he from?
B: He’s from Malaysia.
A: Where in Malaysia is he from?
B: Kuala Lumpur.

Warm up
* Brainstorming:
- Give the names of countries and cities that they learnt or know
- Listen and ask Ss to repeat each word
- Listen and check

- Listen and answer
Malaysia, Thailand, Lao, Vietnam, Bangkok, New York,…
- Listen and copy

Look, listen and repeat
- Ask Ss to look at each picture and get them to identify the familiar characters and the new ones
- Ask Ss to discuss what is happening in each picture. Say: “These children are at a summer camp in Vietnam. (point to picture)
- Ask Ss some questions:
Who are they?
What are they talking about?
- Play the recording for Ss to read each line in the pictures and check Ss comprehension at times, using English, and Vietnamese when necessary.
- Use an atlas or a world map to show where each country or city.
