UNIT 1: HELLO
LESSON 1

I. Aims and objectives:
1. Language contents:
-To help the students to use the words and phrases related to the topic Introduction.
- To teach the students how to greet and introduce oneself, using Hello/Hi. I’m + (name).
2. Language function :
-By the end of the lesson, the students will be able to greet and introduce themselves well.
3. Language:
-Vocabularies: hi, hello.
Proper names.
- Structures : Hello, I am Nam.
Hi, Mai. I’m Nam.
4. Education aim:
- To educate the students aware of the importance of greetings.
5. Skills: Integrated skills.
II. Teacher’s and pupils’ preparation:
- Method: Communicative Approach.
- Technique: Repetition, Explanation, Pairwork
- Material needed: Textbook, small board, teachercards, cassette player ,cards
III. Procedure in class: 35 mins
1. Stabilization (1`)
a. Warm up: Makes greetings
b. Checking absence: “Who absent today?”
2. Check-up previous knowledge (3’)
- Introduces them the new language, the aim they learn it and how to study it well.

A. LOOK,LISTEN AND REPEAT.
1. Lead – in:
- Greets the class by saying hello. Encourages them to answer with hello Then points to yourself and says: “I’m Miss/Mr +(your name). Go around the class and say your name to different pupils. Helps individuals respond with hello.
2. Pre – practice:
- Teaches new words and the pattern by using pupets and gestures.
+ Hi = hello
+ I am = I’m
- Reads the new words and calls sts to repeat .
-Tells them they are going to practice introducing themselves and responding to the introduction by explaining what happens in the pictures on the books.
3. Controlled – practice:
- Points and calls the names of two children in the textbook .
- Lets them listen to the dialogue on the cassette .
-Have pupils repeat the texts in the pubbles a few times.
-Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking
- Plays the recording for pupils to listen and say along.
4. Free – practice:
- Aks them to Practice greeting and introducing their names in pairs.
B. POINT AND SAY.
1. Lead-in
- Says again: “Hello. I’m Miss…”Tells pupils that they are going to practice saying Hello/Hi + name. and respond to greeting .
2. Pre- practice
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps.
3. Controlled – practice
- Have pupils repeat the sentences a few times.
-Do choral and individual repetition, using the character’s name as prompts.
-Have them work in pairs to practice.
4. Free- practice
- Encourages them to greet and tell the
name.
C. TALK.
1. Lead – in
- Introduces the incomplete dialogue.
- Tells them that they are going to practice more with their friends.
2. Pre – practice
- Asks the sts to identify the characters in the pictures. Aks them to guess what the children say.
3. Controlled – practice
- Points to picture and asks the sts to fill in the gaps. Gets them to repeat the sentences a few times.
- Asks them to role play the dialogue in groups of three to interact.
4. Free – practice
- Aks them to Practice greeting and introducing their names in front of class.

4. Consolidation
-Asks the sts to arrange the letters or the words given :

5.Homework :
- Asks the sts to learn the patterns to greet and to introduce the names
