Lesson 1

I. Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:
- Ask questions about favourite food and drink.
- Answer these questions.
- Listen for specific information.
II. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: food, drink, chicken, beef, fish, pork,milk, apple juice, orange juice, mineral water.
- Sentence patterns: - What’s your favourite food?

I. Warm up
* Have Ss play the game: Guessing game.
- Prepare a packet of milk and put it in to a box.
- Ask ss to ask some questions, T answers, ss listen and find out what it is.
- Give the comment.
II. New lesson:
1. Look , listen and repeat
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the characters and what they are doing.
- Introduce the dialogue: They are going to listen to Tom and Nam are talking about their favourite food and drink.
- Play the CD for the ss.
- Play again, have ss listen and repeat.
- Present the way to ask questions about favourite food and drink, pay attention to the words favourite and orange juice.
- Have ss read the dialogue.
- Check some groups.
2. Look and say:
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the food and drink in each picture.
- Give the meaning of new words.
- Have ss read aloud the new words.
- Call some ss to read.
- Check ss’understanding by a game: What and where.
- Represent the way to ask questions about favourtite food, drink and how to answer.
- Do the task with a student and then
have ss work in pairs ask and answer about days of the week.
- Check ss.
3. Listen and tick.
- Have Ss look at the pictures in N 4 to identify the food and drink in each picture.
- Ask Ss to listen and tick.
- Have ss listen again and check.
- Call on some students to report the answers to the class.
- Check and correct.
III. Reinforcement and homelink:

- Work in groups to play the game.
