Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer about the zoo animals.

-Sing a song “Finger family song” and do the action.
-Ask Ss:
1.Vào ngày nghỉ thì các em thường được bố mẹ đưa đi đâu chơi?
2. Vậy có bạn nào đã đi sở thú chưa?
3.Tới đó thì các em thấy những con vật gì nè?
-À đúng rồi ở sở thú có rất nhiều con vật đúng không nè vậy để biết được những con vật đó trong tiếng Anh là gì thì hôm nay cô sẽ giới thiệu cho các em 1 số từ vựng và mẫu câu để hỏi trả lời về các con vật trong sở thú.
-Say: “ Today we are going to learn Unit16: Zoo animals- lesson 1(1,2)”.

-Ask Ss to look at the picture on page 42.
-Set the scence by using some eliciting questions:
+ How many people are there?
+ Who are they?

+ Where are they?
+ Who can guess what are they talking about?
-Play the CD for Ss listen 2 times:
+the first time: ask Ss to listen to the dialogue.
+the second time: ask Ss to listen again, pause after each line for Ss to repeat.
-Divide class into 2 groups to role play Ben and Ben’s mother,
then swap their role.
-Ask Ss to work in pairs to practice the dialogue.
-Call some closed pairs to read the dialogue.
-Call Ss from another pairs to read the dialogue.
-Ask Ss look at the picture on page 42 again and ask Ss:
+What does Ben ask his mother?
+What does Ben’s mother answer?
*SENTENCE PATTERNS:
A: What animal is that?
B: It’s a lion.
-Explain the use of the structure.
-Ask Ss to read the structure.
-Use the pictures to teach new words.
-Show a picture of a tiger and ask: What animal is that?
-Lets read the word “a tiger” several times.
-Write the word on the board and check the meaning:
+a tiger
-Repeat the steps with other words.
-Write the words on the board:
+a giraffe
+an elephant
+a monkey
+a crocodile
+a bear
+a lion
-Point to each picture and say “animal”, “animal”, “animal”…
-Point all of pictures and say “animals”.
-Write the word on the board and ask Ss to guess the meaning “animal”.
-Read and ask Ss to repeat the words several times.
-Ask Ss to match the words with the correct pictures to check vocabularies.
-Give feedback.
-Ask Ss to look at picture a and do the task as a model: What animal is that?
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask answer the question about the zoo animals.
-Call some pairs to check.
-Give feedback.
-Lets Ss play a game: “ Pass the ball”. Explain the rule of game:
+divide class into 2 teams: Team A and Team B.
