Unit 19: A PICNIC
Lesson 1

I. Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:
- Ask the questions about arrangements for a picnic.
- Give the answer.
- Listen for specific information.
II. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: raincoat, umbrella, sausage,hamburger, picnic, camera, cake, sweet, take, buy.
- Sentence patterns: - What’ he/ she going to do?
- He/She’s going to buy some fruit.
III. Resources: CD and radio, students’ book .

I. Warm up
* Have Ss play the game: Chatting game.
- Ask ss to answer.
- Give the comment.
- Ask them to read aloud all words.

II.New lesson:
1.Look , listen and repeat
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the characters and what they are doing.
- Introduce the dialogue: They are going to listen to Nam and Mai are talking about their arrangements for the picnic.
- Play the CD for the ss.
- Play again, have ss listen and repeat.
- Present the way to ask and answer about their arrangements for the picnic.
- Have ss read the dialogue.
- Check some groups.

2. Look and say:
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the clothes or food in each picture.
- Give the meaning of new words.
- Have ss read aloud the new words.
- Call some ss to read.
- Check ss’understanding by a game: Yes or no.
- Represent the way to ask and answer about their arrangements for the picnic.
- Do the task with a student and then
have ss work in pairs make suggestion to go to some places and give the response to a suggestion.
- Check ss.
3. Listen and tick.
- Have Ss look at the pictures in N 4 to identify the activities in each picture.
- Ask Ss to listen and tick.
- Have ss listen again and check.
- Call on some students to report the answers to the class.
- Check and correct.
III. Reinforcement and homelink:
- Ask Ss to do A,B at home.
