- Have students greet others in English and introduce themselves

- Introduce new lesson


* Look, listen and repeat
- Give situations to explain new words:
Good morning / Good afternoon
Good evening / Goodbye

- Have Ss read in chorus, individuals.
- Show the picture on page 6 and ask Ss to guess how the students greet the teacher.
- Let Ss listen to the cassette.

- Have Ss open the books and repeat sentence by sentence after the cassette.
- Let them read in chorus,in pairs.

*Look and say
- Have one student say the task.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs.
- Call some pairs to perform the task.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce pronunciation.

* Talk:
- Divide the Ss into groups of 4
- Deliver each group 4 pictures of greetings and turn the pictures back.
- Ask Ss to work in group: one by one in each group pick one picture up and say the greeting in it.
- Call some groups to perform the task.

* Listen and tick:
- Show the pictures on page 7 and ask Ss to say out the greeting in the pictures.
- Let Ss guess which pictures will be mentioned.
- Play the cassette twice.
- Call some Ss to give their answers.
- Give the key.
- Have Ss do exercise B1, A2 “Vocabulary” on page 4, 5 individuals
+ Ask Ss to exchange their workbooks to check the answer.
+ Have them give comment to their partner’s working.
+ Call one student to write her/his answer on the board.
+ Let the whole class read the completed sentences in chrous

- Consolidate content of the lesson.
- Learn the new words by heart and write each word 2 lines.
