Make a conversation with their parner.

- Ask Ss to work in pairs, looking at the chart and discussing the changes in weekly hours of basic housework by married women and married men in the USA between 1976 and 2012. The Ss just talk about the general changes
Encourage Ss to guess the reason for the changes
Write the reasons given by Ss on the board
- Ask Ss to read the requirement of Task 2 and guess if that statements are True or False. If there are new words to Ss, explain them and give the Vietnamese equivalents.

Play the recording and have Ss do the exercise
Check Ss’ answers : If many Ss in the class have incorrect answers, play the recording again, and stop at the place where Ss can get the correct answers.

Ask Ss to work in pairs to match the word/ phrase with its approciate meaning

Ask Ss to work in pairs to compare their answers.
