LESSON 2: SPEAK

I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about preparations for a festival and know what the Robinson prepares for Tet.
II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, poster, hand-out
III. PROCEDURES:

TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES

1/ Warm-up: (6’)
Network
- Ask Ss to play game in two teams.








- Lead to the lesson.


- List the things as much as possible.
+ clean and decorate their house
+ buy some food and drink
+ buy flowers
+ paint the house
+ buy new clothes
+ buy cakes and candy
- Listen.

2/ Pre-speaking: (15’)
( Activity 1:
- Explain some vocabulary.
I. New words:
pomegranate ( n ) : quả lựu ( piture )
peach blossom ( n ) : hoa đào( picture)
dried watermelon seed (n): hạt dưa(real object)
spring roll ( n ) : chả giò( translate)
marigold ( n ) : hoa cúc( picture)
a bunch of …: 1 bó (translate)
* checking: Rub out and remember
( Activity 2:
- Ask Ss to reorder the sentences to make a complete dialogue.






- Call some pairs give feedback.


- Guess the meaning, read and take note.

- Ask Ss to work in pairs to make the dialogue.


- Read the festivals and choose the the festival they like.









- Practice in pairs in 10’.

4/ Post-speaking: (8’)
- Call some pairs present their dialogue.
- Ask Ss to write their dialogue in notebook.


- Present in front of class.
- Write down the dialogue.

5/ Homework: (2’)
- Learn the structure.
- Prepare unit 13: Listen.

- Write assignments.
