Period 27 : Listening
I. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
- Develop their skill of listening for specific information.
- Talk about the disadvantages of over-reading.
II. Materials:
Textbook, posters, pointer, pictures, cassette player, etc ...
III. Anticipated problems:
Ss may not have catch some information, so T should be ready to assist them.

- Ask Ss to list benefits of reading books (ask Ss to find out as much as they can if necessary).
- Ask for Ss’ ideas and write on the board.
- May add some more benefits if necessary.

- Pre-teaching new words:
- Ask Ss to look at the new words in the book and give their meanings in Vietnamese.
- Play the cassette twice and ask Ss to repeat.

- Before Ss listen, ask Ss to look through sentences in task 1.
- Play the tape twice for Ss to listen and do the task.
- Ask Ss to share their answers with their partners.
- Call some Ss to give their answers and explain their answer in front of the class.
- Play the tape again for Ss to check their answers, pausing at the points of the answers.
