+Ask students to guess the kind of letter through crossword
+Give some suggestions:
- It is a noun that consists of 12 letters.
- It is a kind of letter.
+Ask some questions about confirmation letter.
1. What kind of letters did you study in English 10?
2. Did you study how to write a confirmation letter?
+Introduce the lesson and write on the board

- The definition of request letter and confirmation letter
Request is the letter that ask for information or help
Confirmation letter: It is the letter that responds to the request. It confirms whether the help is provided or the information available or not.
- The form of confirmation letter:
1. Greetings:
- Dear + First name,
2. Body:
- The introduction: expressing interest/ repeating the request
- The confirmation: agreeing to help/ confirming the request
- The suggestion: accepting the suggestion or giving the new one.
3. Closing.
- Love, / Yours, / Sincerely
4. Signature
- Useful Expressions:
1. The introduction:
- I’m glad to hear that ……..
- I have just got your letter in which you asked me + to V…….
-I am writing to confirm (that)…
2. The confirmation:
- Certainly, I’ll ……
- Surely, ……..
- Of course, ……
3. The suggestion:
- You can be sure that I’ll ……..
- Why don’t we meet at…….?

3.While-writing:
* Task 1:
+Call on two students read aloud two letters on page 69
+Ask students to work in pairs and find the requests in Nga’s letter and confirmation in Hoa’sletter
+Listen and check the answers.
*Task 2:
+Ask students to read the situations on page 69 and identify the situation, the request and the respond in 2 situations.
+Call 2 students answer do this task.
+ Check the answers and give the feedback if necessary
+Ask students to choose the first situation to write a confirmation letter
+Read aloud two letters
+Work in pair to find the the requests in Nga’s letter and confirmation in Hoa’s letter
+Give the answer
-The request in Nga’s letter:
Can you go shopping with me to buy the things for the trip?
I will pick you up at 2:30 p.m.
-The confirmation in Hoa’s letter:
Certainly, I will help you to prepare everything you need for the trip.
