I. Objectives:

1. Warm up (5’)

- Ask Ss to name the subjects they have studied.
* Name the subjects you have studied.

2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)
- Introduce the situation.
- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and name the subjects.
A4. Listen. Then write the correct letters next to the names.
* Ss know the subjects which Ba and Hoa study.
- The names of the subjects:
a. Geography
b. Physical Education
c. Computer science
d. Physics/ Technology
e. class activities
- Explain how to do the exercise.
- Ask Ss some questions.
* Pre-listening:
- Questions
+ What are the pictures about?
+ What school subjects do you like?
+ Can you guess what subjects Ba and Hoa do on Saturday morning?
- T turns on the tape twice.
- Ss listen to the tape.
* While-listening:
- T asks Ss to match the letters of the subjects with the appropriate students in correct orders.
- Has Ss cross check their answers with a partner.
- Calls on some Ss to check the answers.
- Turns on the tape again.
- Corrects and gives the answers.

Tape transcript:
On Saturday morning, Ba and Hoa go to school. Some of the subjects they do on Saturday are the same, but some of them are different. At seven o’clock, Ba has Technology and Hoa has Computer Science. These classes last for two periods. At 8.40, Ba has Geography. Hoa does not have Geography on Saturday. She has Physical Education instead. In the last period, they have the same class. Hoa and Ba both have class activities then.
- Asks Ss to practice in pairs.
- Helps and corrects.

- He studies Technology, Geography and Class activity.

* Ss read the text clearly and know what they study in those sujects.
* Pre-reading:

2. What do you study in each subject?
3. Which subjects do you like/ dislike? Why? The text on page 54:
- Ss discuss with a partner, odd one out.
* White-reading:
- Discuss with a partner. Odd one out.
- Literature: author, writing, painting, stories.
- History: basketball games, famous people, world events, important days
- Science: experiments, meter, preposition, temperature
- English: work, verbs, England, pronouns
- Corrects and gives answers.

- Asks Ss answer some questions.
- Lets students work in pairs, asking and answering similar questions.
