UNIT 14: WONDERS OF THE WORLD
LISTEN
I. Objectives
- Ss make a report on famous places using reported speech and recognize mistakes through listening to an advertisement
1. Knowledge, Skills, Attitude:
a. Knowledge:
- Vocabulary: Related to “Wonders of the world”
- Grammar: Indirect questions with if and whether.
b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing
c. Attitude: Ss will be educated about protecting wonders of the world.
2. Capacity is formed and developed for students
- Self-learning capability.
- Communicative competence
- Cooperation capacity
II. Preparation
1. Teacher: lesson plan, book, color chalks, pictures, MP3
2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler …
III. Students’ activities
1. Warm up (5’)
Teacher’s and Students’ activities
Content
- T informs the topic and time limit.
- T has Ss write 10/15 famous world places within 3 minutes.
- T delivers poster to Ss.
- T tells Ss to put their posters on the board.
- T gives feedback and corrects.
Who is the faster?
2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)
- T presents the new words.
- Ss listen.
- Then Ss read the new words (choral, individually).
- T sets the scene:
“You are going to listen to an advertisement on the tape. There are 4 mistakes in the advertisement in your books”
- T has Ss read the advertisement in their books for a few minutes.
- T asks Ss some questions about the geographical names in the paragraph.
- T plays the tape 2 or 3 times.
- T gets some Ss to give their answer.
- T plays the tape the last time, give feedback and correct.
IV. Listen
* Ss recognize mistakes through listening to an advertisement
Listen and correct the mistakes.
* New words
- relaxing (adj)
- crystal clear(a)

- snorkel (v)
*Answer key:
