the pictures in a circle around the spinner plate.
- Have students work in four groups.
- Ask students from each group to take turns to
put a pen in the middle of the spinner plate,
then spin the pen to find out the picture the pen
points to. Then ask them to ask and answer the
question with the picture.
E.g. Student A: Did you go to Ba Na Hill last
weekend?
Student B: Yes, I did.
- Ask students to continue the game until all
students in each group can play the game.
- Praise students if they play the game well.

read it again.
- Ask students to come to the board and rewrite
the words in the correct places in the circles.

+ Objectives: To help students correctly say the
phrases and use sentence patterns to ask and
answer questions about activities someone did
on a school trip.
+ Procedures
- Use picture cues.

- Ask students to look at the pictures and
identify the places and the activities.
- Play the recording for students to listen to and
repeat the words under the pictures in chorus
and individually until they feel confident.
- Model Picture a. Draw students' attention to
the speech bubbles and elicit the missing word
by pointing at Picture a. Play the recording for
students to listen to and repeat the sentences in
both bubbles a few times.
- Repeat the same procedure with Pictures b, c,
and d. Then let students practise asking and
answering questions in pairs. Go around the
classroom to offer help if necessary.
- Invite a few pairs to act out the exchanges in
front of the class.
- Praise students if they practise well.
IV. PRODUCTION (8 minutes)
* Let's talk. (page 70)
+ Objectives: To help the students enhance the
correct use of sentences patterns to ask and
answer questions about activities someone did
on a school trip in a freer context.
+ Procedures
- Picture cues: two children playing games in
Suoi Tien Theme Park, two children planting
trees on a farm, two children walking around

and write them on the board. Get students to

answering questions about activities someone
did on a school trip in front of the class and
correct their pronunciation where necessary.
- Give encouragement to the students'

Game: “Sentence puzzle”
- Explain how the game is played.
- Divide the class into two groups. Give each
group two sentences broken.
e.g. 1. visited / They / old / buildings. / the
2. trees. / They / planted
3. walked / lake. / around / They / the
4. games. / played / They
- Give time for students to reorder the words to
make a meaningful sentence.
- Check the answers as the class.
- The group having more correct sentences wins
the game.

- Say the completed sentences.
- Work in in groups of four to ask and answer
