PREPARE FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE ACADEMIC
Time: 35’
I. OBJECTIVES:
- To help the students to know about the new subject: ENGLISH
- To introduce textbook:
- To help them to prepare necessary things for the English subject
II. PROCEDURES:
1. Warm up:
- Greetings.
- Teacher introduce to pupils
2. Introduce:
- Giving pupils to familiarize themselves with book
- Introducing about program of the academic year.
3. How to learn the new subject effectively:
- Ask the sts to prepare textbook, workbook, and notebook
- Listen to the teacher carefully in the class
- Learn by heart all the new words at home
- Do exercises after class
- Encourages the ss usually listen to music, watch TV, listen to English song every time and every where
III. HOMEWORK:
- Ask ss to prepare book, notebook, and the things to learn.

Unit 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN.
Lesson 1 (Part 1, 2)
Time: 35’
I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of period, Ss will be able to: greet and respond to greetings formally, using Good morning / Good afternoon/ Good evening and Nice to see you again.
- Develop their speaking and listening skill.
II. LANGUAGE FOCUS:
1. New word: morning, afternoon, evening, night, tomorrow, later, again, see, meet.
2. Structures: Good morning / Good afternoon/ Good evening and Nice to see you again.
III. RESOURCES:
Ss’ book, recording, fresh cards, puppets, posters….
IV. PROCEDURES:
1. Warm- up: (5’)
- Get Ps sing a song How are you again.
2. Pre-task: (5’)
- Tell pupils that they are going to learn to: greet and respond to greetings formally.
- Have them look at the four pictures to discuss the contexts in which the language is use. Ask them questions such as Who are they?/ Where are they?/ What are they talking about?
3. Task – cycle: (15’)
a. Look, listen and repeat: (7’)
- Play the recording a few time for Ps to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking.
- Play the recording again for Ps to listen and say along.
b. Point and say: (8’)
- Have them look pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts. Point to the first picture and elicit the formal greeting used in the morning.
- Ask Ps to say the phrase chorally and responding to greeting in pairs, using the prompts in bubbles.
- Repeat the same procedure with the rest of pictures.
- Call a few pairs to act out in front of the class. Check as a class and correct pronunciation, if necessary.
4. Language focus: (5’)
* Greet your teachers in the classroom or at school.
- Tell pupils that they are going to practice using Good morning or Good afternoon.
- Ask some of them to act out the greetings with you
5. Follow up: (3’)
- Have pupils practice greeting and responding the other formally use Good morning / Good afternoon/ Good evening.
