T’s ACTIVITIES
Ss’ ACTIVITIES

I. Warm up and review.
1. - Greets
-“Hi, Hello.I’m Uyen./My name’s . . .
- Gives each student a name card with his/her name.

2. Call the names of Ss.
3.Game 1: Chain drill
* Instructions:
- Divides the class into groups. Sit face to face.
- T says the first word/sentence.
- S1 says the first word/sentence again. Then says the second word/sentence.
- S2 says the sentence of S1 again. Next S2 says the third word/sentence.
- S3,S4 do diffirent steps same above.
- Now,listen to me. “Hi,I’m Uyen. What’s your name?”
- And now you “S1” answers & continues to ask S2. S2 answers & continues to ask S3.





4. Review:

- Uses the real objects placing in various locations around the front of the class.
- T: “Where’s the (bag)?”
- T: “Where’s ..............?”
II. Presentation:
1. Introduce the new vocabulary by using T cards.
a) - T: “Library. A library” ( 2 times_ aloud_clearly)
- Does another words/vocabularies same as above step.
<1. lunchroom 2. library 3.boys’ room 4. girls’ room 5. music room 6. classroom 7. office 8. gym 9. hall>

- Writes each new word on the board after introducing.
.b) Practice using vocabulary:
Game 2: “Slap the board” ( word/picture)



* Instructions:
- Writes the words on the board in random.
- Asks Ss to divide into groups
- Explains the rule of the game:
+ T says a word aloud.
+ The first S in the line of A or B come to the board & slap.
- 2 groups please, 2 lines, the first S of a line.
- Listen, go to the board & slap.
- Then the second S continue.
Game 3: “Guessing game”
* Instructions:
1. Asks Ss to give/say another word associated with a school room.
- Now,listen and guess.
Ex: a desk, chairs,....
-books, booksheves..............

2. - T says quickly a word in Vietnamese.
3. - T says quickly a word in English follow the alphabets.

c) Introduces the prepositions:
“ across from, next to,...”
- Asks 2 Ss to come to the front & have them stand facing each other.
- T: Lan is across from Hoa.
- Asks Ss to repeat each preposition many times.
- Does same with another prepositions.
d) Practice using prepositions:
- Asks Ss to take out some school objects to practise.



2. Introduce the WH_questions & answer pattern.
- Draws some pictures of the rooms in a school on the board.
- Asks: “ Where`s the library?”
- Asks: “ Where`s the office?”
- Asks Ss to repeat the pattern.
“ Where’s the ....?”
* Practise: Ask & Answer:
- T: Office
* Game 4: “ Drawing/ sticking school rooms”
* Instructions:
- Now,look at the school building floor plan and your set of cards
- Listen and stick/arrange.
a)- T uses worksheet of U.1 to copy the page into many sets of cards.
- Provide each S with the school building floor plan & a set of cards.
- Asks Ss to arrange the rooms on the floor plan in any order.
- Asks Ss to tell the name & location of the room.


III/Open the books:
1.- Asks Ss to open the books on page 2.
- Asks: Who’s he?..................
- T: This is David. This is Amy. These are Ben & Wendy.


2.- Plays the recording.
David: Excuse me.Where’s the lunchroom?
Amy: It’s across from the gym. Come with me?
David: OK.
Amy: My name is Amy.What’s your name?
David: I’m David.
Amy: These are my friends, Ben and Wendy. This is David.
Ben and Wendy: Hi, David.
- Plays the recording again. Pause after each line.
3. Practice the conversation:
- Models with 4 Ss.
- Asks Ss to work in group of 4

4. Writes the paradigm on the board.
- Plays the tape again.
