Objectives:By the end of this period, the students can:
Read for specific information about an unusual festival. Help Ss to read quickly (scanning).
Develop reading and speaking skills.

Warm up:
T: Ask Ss to answer the questions.
Ss: Answer the teacher’s questions.
T: Control and comment.

Assess Ss’ speaking skill and old knowledge.
New lesson:
I. Reading:
Activity 1.
T: Introduce some new words by many ways.
Ss: Give the meaning of them
T: Read the new words aloud
Ss: - Write the new words.
- Listen and repeat
- Read in chorus
- Read in individual
T: Check vocabulary by ROR
Asses Ss’ memory about vocabulary
Activity 2.
Ss: Write T/F before read the text.
T: Don’t correct their answers.

T: Ask Ss to read the passage, then answer the questions. Then call on some individuals to read aloud to the class. Check their pronunciation and intonation.
Ss: Work individual


Ss: Work in group to find the information for matching.
T: Ask Ss to note where they found the information that help them to match.
Assess Ss’ reading comprehension skill.
II. Speaking:
Activity 3.
T: Ask Ss to do exercise 4 in groups. And ask some Ss to give answers in front of the class. The rest of the class listens and gives comments.
T: Give the key and Ss check.
Assess Ss’ speaking skill.

Consolidation:

Ss: Do exercises in their exercises book.
