I. Aim: Review the present simple tense, present progessive tense, to be going to.
II. Objective: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to remember the uses of "present simple tense", "present progessive tense" and "to be going to".
III. Procedure:
1. The present simple tense:
a. To be: is / am / are.
- S (he, she, It, Mary... ) + is Ex: He is a student
- Si + am Ex: I`m a teacher
- S (we, you, they...) + are Ex: You`re workers
Ask ss to give more examples
b. Ordinary verbs (with Do/Does):
S + Vinf / Vs Ves
Ex: - I study at Que Phu school
- He ususlly has breakfast at six
- Lan goes to school six days a week.
c. Practice: Ns and Cs
He / do the homework
Ba and Nga / play soceer
My father/ work in a factory

I / a good student
She / a muse
We / students

Nga / listen to music
Hoa / read
Minh / engineer

2. The present progressive tense: S + be + Ving
Ex: - He is working in the library
- I am studying English
*. Practice: Word cue drill
Lan / go swimming

I / go to school





They / have breakfast

He / read book

Ex: - What are you doing?
- I`m going to school.
3. Be going to: S + BE + GOING TO + INF
Ex: I`m going to buy a new bicycle
*. Practice: Ss use cue in present progressive tense to ask answer using "the near future tense with be going to"
4. Production: Write it up
Ss write a short paragraph about themselves
Ex: I`m a student. I`m in class 7A and I learn at Que Phu school. I often go to school at six o`clook and my classes finish at 11.15. I`m studying English and I`m going to have a new bicycle.
IV. Homework:
Write short a paragraph about your father / mother / brother...
