I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
1. Knowledge:
understand and use the adjectives of characters and appearance: funny, helpful, hard-working, funny, kind, lazy, selfish, friendly, tall, short, short/long/red/blond hair
understand and use the words in the right situations: clean, try, chore, hard, share
use the present simple tense to describe one’s appearance and character: What’s he/she like? - He/She is…., What does he/she look like? - He/She is……, What does he/she do? – He/She ……
2. Competences:
a) General competences:
Self-control & independent learning:
+ read an article about 2 sisters from a Vietnamese folktale individually individually
+ complete learning tasks individually
+ talk and write about their best friends (name, age, characteristics, appearance and activities of their best friends)(name, age, characteristics, appearance and activities of their best friends)
Communication and collaboration:
+ work in pairs or groups to describe Tấm and Cám, Harry Potter’s personalities
Problem-solving and creativity:
+ use given words to find things that show Tấm and Cám‘s personalities in the article
+ make the conversation following the model one in the textbook
+ describe their best friend’s appearance and personality.

1. Activity 1:(6 minutes)
Aims:
review vocabulary of appearance and characters: funny, helpful, hard-working, funny, kind, lazy, selfish, friendly, tall, short, short/long/red/blond hair, What does he/she look like?
leadinto the new lesson and create the fun atmosphere before starting the new lesson
Content/Performance tasks:
greet and check attendance
use Brainstorming to review the adjectives of appearance and character: funny, helpful, hard-working, funny, kind, lazy, selfish, friendly, tall, short, short/long/red/blond hair
guide and divide into two teams to play the game Brainstorming
remark and correct if there are mistakes of spelling
tell which team wins
show a picture of The Story of Tấm and Cám and a picture of a person and asks some questions
